Here is where I post my deepest most thoughts . . I paste on a smile to seem happy when I'm really not . . In reality, I just want someone to vent to . . So I come here !
I'm slowly realizing that I'm different . . I'm at odds with what's "Normal" . . But that's what makes me who I am !
Not the fake “just because” relationships you see everywhere. I want a genuine relationship with someone who will run all the way to the end of the world for me.
36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” 39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” 43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. 44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.45 Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”
First and foremost, this is one of my favorite passages of the Bible. We all know how it feels to call someone because we’re feeling down. We also know how hurtful it can be when the person we call is not there for us.
Jesus was experiencing arguably the most difficult moments of His life in this passage. He knew that He would soon have to die. The people that he was dying for could not even stay awake and be with Him during His time of need. One of them would even betray Him. And a group of them would later cruxify Him. Even today, we take Jesus’ sacrifie for granted.
This is one of the greatest things about having a personal relationship with God. You don’t have to wait for Him to check His text messages. He won’t be on vacation with His family. He’s there for us whenever we need Him.
Now think about your relationship with those around you: Are you like the Disciples and fall asleep on other people’s problems? Or are you constantly uplifting your brothers and sisters?
We all need someone to be with us when we are in the Garden of Gethsemane <3
I just wish I knew where I was going.
That’s why I’m working so hard this semester. I’m learning that if you really want something then you have to work 10 times more than you want it.
This world needs me. It needs my spirit, my passion . .
People are depending on me. I’m depending on me.
